Hyundai Teases First Image Of The Fourth-Generation Santa Fe

Hyundai has unveiled the first image of its upcoming fourth-generation Santa Fe SUV, due to celebrate its world premiere in February before making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Hyundai claims the new generation Santa Fe will offer a comprehensive package of Hyundai’s latest active safety features under the Smart Sense technology umbrella. This includes an industry-first Rear Occupant Alert, which monitors the rear seats to detect passengers and alerts the driver when leaving the car.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning is now enhanced by an automated braking function. To avoid the risk of collision when reversing out of narrow areas with limited visibility, the system warns the driver and applies the brakes automatically.

The Smart Sense package, as offered on the company’s recently launched Kona SUV, also features Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian detection, Lane Keep Assist (LKA), High Beam Assist with Static Low Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Blind-Spot Collision Warning.

The silhouette teaser image of the vehicle reveals a strong shoulder line and bold proportions, with the addition of a feature line in the lower regions of the body. The thin, swept-back lines of the headlight would suggest similar design cues as seen on the smaller Kona and Tucson SUV models.
