2017 Subaru BRZ Facelift Launched In Malaysia – 6MT, From RM224k

Subaru distributor motor image Malaysia has launched the facelifted 2017 Subaru BRZ in Malaysia. Subaru’s seminal 2-door coupe is now crucially offered in both six-speed manual (previously special order) and automatic transmission variants, priced at RM224,389 and RM230,749 respectively, excluding insurance.

No difference in the powertrain, the BRZ is powered by a 2.0-litre boxer engine, producing 200PS at 7,000rpm and 205 nm between 6,400 and 6,600rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Torsen limited-slip differential (LSD). The six-speed auto, however, delivers better fuel consumption – at 7.1l/100km versus the manual’s 7.8l/100km on the ECE cycle.

Aesthetically – the facelifted BRZ is underscored by a new front fascia design, flanked by C-shaped headlamp graphics with full-LED headlamps for improved visibility. The foglamps are full-LED units too. Along the flanks - the front fender design is also new, and the BRZ now wears a 10-spoke 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels. The LED taillights are new as well.

The facelifted model also features some upgrades to the suspension setup – namely thicker anti-roll bars and revised springs and absorbers. Body rigidity has been improved too, thanks to stronger chassis and strut tower braces and a new transmission cross-member plate.

On the inside, the BRZ receives a new instrument cluster with an integrated 4.2-inch multifunction colour display, a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel completes the updates for this facelift.
