2026 Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance unveiled - BEV that can shift gears?

Lexus has lifted the veil on the RZ 600e F Sport Performance, the brand’s most powerful battery electric SUV yet.

Going on sale globally from 2 March 2026, this special edition model turns the RZ into a more driver-focused and performance-oriented BEV, blending sharp handling with the refinement Lexus is known for. Prices start from 12,165,000 Yen (approximately RM315,108) for the Japanese local market.

Building on the RZ 550e F Sport, and following the limited production RZ 450e F Sport Performance, the RZ 600e F Sport Performance delivers more power, sharper dynamics and unique styling, offering a glimpse of what Lexus’s high-performance BEV future might look like.

Thrilling performance and interactive driving

The RZ 600e F Sport Performance packs 313 kW (425 PS) from its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, propelling it from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Handling has been sharpened with a 20 mm lower ride height compared to the RZ 550e F Sport, while larger brakes with six-piston front calipers provide more stopping power.

One standout feature is the Interactive Manual Drive system. It mimics a traditional eight‑speed transmission, complete with paddle shifters and simulated engine sounds, giving the driver a more connected, engaging experience rarely seen in a BEV.

Sporty styling inside and out

Exterior updates include Black with Hakugin II matte finish or Black with Neutrino Gray, plus blue accents highlighting the vehicle’s performance character. Special edition 21-inch Enkei wheels and carbon aerodynamic components, such as the hood bulge, roof panel, rear wing and turning vanes, set it apart visually.

Inside, the cabin features Ultrasuede sport seats with integrated foam moulding for improved support, blue stitching, piano black trim with blue accents, and a dial-type shift selector, all reinforcing the sporty character of this special edition.

Range, efficiency, and tech

Despite the performance upgrades, the RZ 600e F Sport Performance manages a WLTC range of 525 km. Electrical consumption is rated at 15.9 kWh per 100 km, and the 76.96 kWh battery supports both AC and DC fast charging.

What it means for Malaysia

Malaysian buyers currently have access to the Lexus RZ 450e, the closest equivalent on sale locally. With 230 kW and 435 Nm from dual motors, a 71.4 kWh battery, and up to 440 km WLTP range, the RZ 450e offers premium comfort, refinement, and everyday usability.

Pricing for the RZ 450e Luxury starts from RM429,888 on the road without insurance. While it is less aggressive than the RZ 600e F Sport Performance, it already incorporates the Direct4 all-wheel-drive system and much of the same platform technology.
