New 2026 Ford Everest Platinum launched in Malaysia in 2.0L and 3.0L V6 forms; priced from RM349k

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford today launched the new 2026 Ford Everest Platinum, which serves as the range-topper in the line-up, while the existing Everest Sport 2.0L has been updated with a new transmission.

Prices for the new additions are as follows:

  • Everest Platinum 2.0L – RM348,888
  • Everest Platinum 3.0L – RM430,888
  • Everest Sport 2.0L – RM316,888

Alongside the Platinum and Sport, the Ranger-based seven-seater SUV is also available in Trend (RM281,888) and Titanium (RM313,888) forms. All variants are fully imported (CBU) from Thailand.

Positioned at the top of the range is the Everest Platinum 3.0L, powered by a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 producing 250 PS and 600 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission with e-Shifter and a full-time four-wheel-drive system featuring an electromagnetic transfer case (EMTC).

The Everest Platinum 2.0L, meanwhile, is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine delivering 170 PS and 405 Nm. Like the 3.0L, it is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, but instead of a full-time four-wheel-drive system, it utilises Ford’s Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) part-time setup.

As premium-focused offerings, both Platinum variants come with Matrix LED headlights and a black grille featuring a mesh insert and twin centre bars. The black “Platinum” lettering on the bonnet, front doors and tailgate, however, is exclusive to the 3.0L.

The Platinum 3.0L also rides on larger 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 275/45 tyres, while the 2.0L gets 20-inch alloys fitted with 255/55 tyres.

In terms of exterior colours, the 3.0L is available in Acacia Green, Meteor Grey and Absolute Black. The 2.0L can be specified in the same colours, with Arctic White offered as an additional option.

Inside, both Platinum variants feature ventilated and heated leather-accented front seats with 10-way power adjustment, memory function for the driver and “Platinum” badging. A panoramic moonroof and ambient lighting are also onboard.

On the technology front, both variants come equipped with a 12-inch touchscreen running the Ford SYNC 4A infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as a 12.4-inch TFT instrument cluster. The Platinum 3.0L further gains a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with a dedicated subwoofer, while the 2.0L makes do with an eight-speaker setup.

Moving on to the Everest Sport 2.0L, it serves as the entry-level variant in the line-up. Under the bonnet is the same 2.0-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine found in the Platinum 2.0L, but instead of the previous six-speed automatic transmission, it now gets Ford’s 10-speed unit, along with the brand’s ESOF part-time four-wheel-drive system.

On top of that, it also features six selectable drive modes, namely Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts and Sand.

Exterior highlights include LED reflector headlights with Ford’s signature C-clamp daytime running lights, black exterior accents and 20-inch alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from four exterior colours: Command Grey, Lightning Blue, Arctic White and Absolute Black.

Inside, the Everest Sport receives newly designed two-tone seats and a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen. The driver, however, gets a smaller 8-inch TFT instrument display.

While I wouldn’t label myself a hardcore petrolhead, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for cars and the simple joy of driving. For me, getting behind the wheel is a therapeutic escape.
