Perodua: All Our Vehicles Conform To Ratings Awarded By ASEAN NCAP

Perodua would like to assure the public that none of its vehicles are being investigated by ASEAN NCAP for any alleged safety violations, said the company in an e-mail reply to Carlist.my.

Yesterday, we reported that a Malaysian manufacturer is under investigation for an alleged safety violation with one of its cars that been tested by ASEAN NCAP earlier. The Global NCAP affiliated safety body said it has receive reports that a Malaysian made car had its top tether mounts (for child seats) removed after the vehicle had undergone testing by ASEAN NCAP.

ASEAN NCAP did not reveal the offending vehicle’s make or model but there were rumours that it involved one of our national makes.

Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh told Carlist.my:

“Perodua wishes to assure our customers that all our vehicles adhered to safety requirements and conform to the safety ratings awarded by ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme). 

“Perodua does not compromise on the safety and the wellbeing of our customers and their loved ones.

“Members of the public are welcomed to come to our sales showrooms and speak with our authorised sales advisors to know and understand more about our products’ safety features.”

At point of publishing, we have yet to receive a statement from Proton.
