2026 Suzuki Fronx Sport arrives in Malaysia for RM130k with added visual punch, entry-level Fronx now starts at RM118k

Suzuki Cars Malaysia and local distributor Naza Eastern has expanded its local line-up with the introduction of the new Fronx Sport, unveiled alongside the launch of the updated ADAS-equipped Jimny AllGrip Plus and Jimny Rhino Plus. The new Fronx variant gives Suzuki's mild-hybrid B-segment crossover a more aggressive visual while retaining the same mechanical package underneath.

Priced at RM130,888 on-the-road without insurance, the Fronx Sport sits above the standard Fronx Hybrid, which has simultaneously received a price adjustment and now starts from more palatable RM118,888.

  • 2026 Suzuki Fronx Sport - RM130,888

The biggest changes on the B-segment crossover come in the styling department. The Fronx Sport receives a range of exterior enhancements including a front lower lip extension, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a tailgate spoiler. A blacked-out front grille and Suzuki emblem further distinguish the variant from the regular model, while exclusive Fronx Sport decals complete the look.

Customers can also opt for larger 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/50R17 Continental UltraContact UC7 tyres, replacing the standard model’s yet more modest 16-inch wheel and tyre package.

Despite the sportier appearance, there are no changes beneath the skin. The Fronx Sport continues to ride on a suspension setup comprising MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam rear axle while braking hardware remains unchanged as well, with ventilated front disc brakes paired with rear drum brakes.

Power comes from the familiar K15C 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with Suzuki's integrated starter-generator (ISG) mild-hybrid system to help with energy recovery and off-the-line power boosts. The powertrain produces 103 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, with drive sent exclusively to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the Fronx Sport largely mirrors the equipment list of the standard Fronx Hybrid. The cabin features a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-camera, as well as wireless smartphone charging. From what we can gather from the spec sheet, an included front and rear 4K dashcam is the only notable addition unique to the Sport variant.

Safety equipment fairly remains comprehensive, with Suzuki's ADAS package including Dual Sensor Brake Support II (Suzuki-speak for AEB), adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist and vehicle sway warning. Also included are six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD and brake assist, plus ISOFIX child-seat anchors.

Imported fully built-up (CBU) from Indonesia, the Fronx Sport is available in either Cool Black or a two-tone Pearl Snow White with Cool Black roof finish. Like the newly launched Jimny variants, the crossover is backed by a 3-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty, but for the Fronx, this is also supplemented well by a 5-year or 100,000km battery warranty.

There's just something about cars. It's a conveyance, it's a liability, it's a tool; but it can also be a source of joy, pride, inspiration and passion. It's much like clothes versus fashion. And like the latter, the pursuit of perfection never ends.
