Deepal S07 BEV spotted again in Malaysia as launch draws closer

Following our first look at the Deepal S07 previewed in Malaysia last year, the all-electric SUV has been spotted once again on local roads while being moved on a vehicle transporter.

This suggests that its launch here may be nearing reality, with Bermaz Changan confirming the model’s presence on Malaysian soil ahead of an official introduction. The Deepal S07 has already been on sale in Thailand, giving prospective Malaysian buyers a clearer picture of what to expect in terms of pricing and specifications should the SUV eventually arrive here.

In Thailand, the S07’s pricing starts from around 1,399,000 baht (approximately RM185,000 to RM190,000) for the standard variant, with higher trim variants also available up to about 1,499,000 baht (roughly RM200,000). This pricing positions the S07 as a potential rival to electric SUVs such as the BYD Sealion 7 and Tesla Model Y in the region.

As previously reported, the Deepal S07 sits in the compact to mid-size SUV segment with dimensions of roughly 4,750 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,625 mm tall, and a 2,900 mm wheelbase that gives it interior space competitive with rivals like the Xpeng G6 and Model Y.

Under the skin, the Thailand market S07 uses a rear‑mounted electric motor producing around 258 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 66.8 kWh battery that returns a claimed 485 km NEDC driving range. Higher range variants with larger battery packs are also offered overseas, though local Malaysian specifications have yet to be confirmed.

The latest sighting of a vehicle transporter adds to mounting signs that Bermaz Changan may be preparing the Deepal S07 for an official launch here, likely in mid-2025 or soon after. That said, Bermaz Changan has not yet confirmed official pricing or final specification for Malaysia, so everything shared thus far should be treated as indicative, based primarily on the Thai market version.

For now, Malaysian car buyers can look forward to more concrete details as Bermaz Changan moves closer to revealing the official local specifications and pricing nearer to the S07’s eventual launch.
