Leapmotor B10 launched in Malaysia at RM107k - 2 variants with 218PS, RWD, up to 434km WLTP range, sub-RM100k intro price

Leapmotor has pulled the covers off its next model with Stellantis Malaysia having already begun taking orders some weeks ago. The B10 is the brand’s second model for our market and potentially its strongest contender yet in the increasingly competitive EV crossover segment.

Coming in 2 variants - Life and Design - and priced between RM107,800 and RM118,800, its price is positioning it directly against the Proton eMAS 7 BYD Atto 3. However, this move also places it uncomfortably close to its own stablemate, the larger C10, which is currently being offered at RM125,000 after hefty price cuts earlier this year.

That reduction was made specifically to counter Proton’s growing EV presence — meaning Leapmotor is now carefully threading the line between offering value and risking internal overlap. That said, as with all EV launches, there’s an early bird promo with Stellantis dropping it things down to RM99,800 and RM109,800, respectively.

  • Leapmotor B10 Life (RM107,800) - 218PS, 240Nm, 56kWh battery, up to 361km WLTP range
  • Leapmotor B10 Design (RM118,800) - 218PS, 240Nm, 67kWh battery, up to 434km WLTP range

In terms of actual dimensions, the B10 measures 4,515 mm long, 1,885 mm wide and 1,655 mm tall, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase. Its exterior draws clear inspiration from the C10 but adopts a sharper, more youthful look, complete with slimmer DRLs, a more sculpted front intake, sleek full-width LED tail lamps and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

For Malaysia, things are spread between the Life and Design variants, broadly aligned with the “Pro” and “Pro Max” models sold overseas. These will feature either a 56.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh battery packs, each powering a single rear-mounted motor producing 218 PS — the same as the C10, incidentally — though torque is reduced to 240 Nm from the C10’s 320 Nm. WLTP figures are strong at 361km for the B10 Life and 434km for the B10 Design.

Performance-wise, the B10 delivers a 0–100 km/h sprint time of around 8 seconds and a maximum speed of 170 km/h. While not designed to break records, these numbers are perfectly adequate for a family-oriented EV focused on efficiency, refinement and everyday practicality.

Speaking of which, inside, the B10 borrows heavily from the C10’s design language here as well, showcasing a minimalist, button-free cockpit that prioritises digital controls and clean surfaces. Standard equipment is pretty generous, including a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof with powered share, wireless charging, and the long-awaited wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto — features notably still absent from the C10, which is due to arrive in January 2026.

The B10 Design receives the ‘Eco Leather’ upholstery upgrade in either Shadow Grey or Dark Grey, depending on exterior colour choice as well as a 12-speaker audio system and powered front seats that are both heated and ventilated. At the very rear, it boasts a 430L boot if that convenient 25L frunk capacity is too modest. While the entry-level Life variant only has access to a more generic Black or White exterior colour, the Design gets a livelier palette, including this Dawn Purple and Starry Night Blue, as well as Tundra Grey.

In terms of ADAS functionality, there’s a long list including AEB, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and all the rest, and these are made standard across the range.

The newcomer is built on the company’s latest LEAP 3.5 architecture, which integrates its battery pack directly with the body structure for greater stiffness, enhanced comfort and more confident road manners. For a relatively new brand still working its way into mainstream awareness, this type of modern hardware may be key in convincing hesitant buyers to give it a chance.

Unlike the C10, which are fitted with proper UHP tyres in the form of a set of Dunlop SP Sport Maxx, the B10’s 18-inch wheels wear decidedly less premium Linglong Sport Master tyres. That said, Leapmotor does even claim the B10 has ‘supercar tuning’ in its own brochure with some of its developmental testing being done at the Bolocco circuit and proving ground in Italy.

Each B10 comes with a 4-year (or 100,000km) vehicle warranty that's extendable by an additional 2-years for a total of 6 years (or 150,000km), though its battery receives an 8-year or 160,000km warranty as standard.

There's just something about cars. It's a conveyance, it's a liability, it's a tool; but it can also be a source of joy, pride, inspiration and passion. It's much like clothes versus fashion. And like the latter, the pursuit of perfection never ends.
