2020 Honda Accord Tops D-Segment Sales Charts

While we’re a little sad that Honda didn’t bring in the most potent version of the Accord, Malaysians are voting for this D-segment sedan with their wallet.

Since its launch in February of this year, close to 500 units of the all-new 2020 Honda Accord have found their way into the homes of customers around the country – with over 420 customers still waiting for delivery of their D-segment sedan. With this total of over 920 units, the 2020 Honda Accord takes a 40% market share in the segment – no small feat in and of itself.

As expected, it’s Platinum White Pearl that tops the sales charts for Accord owners – roughly a third of all Accords sold. The central region saw 42% of all sales, while customers up north represented 23% of sales, and down south netted roughly 19%. All of this is impressive considering how the Movement Control Order came into effect throughout most of the first half of the year, severely putting a dent in sales.

For those unfamiliar, all variants of the 2020 Honda Accord comes with a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine singing to the tune of 201 PS and 260 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT-type automatic transmission. Safety systems are aplenty, especially in the top-spec 1.5 TC-P variant which includes the full Honda Sensing suite.
