BMW Group Malaysia Sets New Record For Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle Deliveries

For the first four months of this year, BMW Group Malaysia has set new delivery records for their plug-in hybrid vehicles. Currently, 52.7% of BMW Group Malaysia's vehicle deliveries this year are plug-in hybrid vehicles. This falls in line with the 41.7% growth that BMW Group's electrified vehicle sales have seen over the same period last year, with a total figure of 36,692 units globally. Even with this strong start, BMW Group is pushing for a global sales figure of 140,000 electrified vehicles for this year.

As for local performance, BMW Group Malaysia launched two new plug-in hybrid vehicles earlier in the year; this came in the form of the 530e Sport in January, and the MINI Countryman Plug-In Hybrid as the other. These additions come hand in hand with BMW Group Malaysia's expansion of accessibility to charging stations, making the plug-in hybrid experience all the more effective and using these cars to their fullest potential.

With performance as strong as this, you can expect BMW Group Malaysia to continue adding to their portfolio of electrified vehicles, especially as they already have the largest portfolio of plug-in hybrid vehicle variants in the industry. Plug-in hybrid cars, coupled with favourable EEV incentives make for good buying propositions at highly competitive prices.

Places more value in how fun a car is to drive than outright performance or luxury. He laments the direction that automotive development is headed in, but grudgingly accepts the logic behind it. Can be commonly found trying to fix yet another problem on his rusty project car.
