Suzuki Swift Sport Spied Outside Naza Automall

An eagle-eyed reader sent us some spy shots of the soon-to-be-launched Champion Yellow Suzuki Swift Sport parked outside Naza Automall in Petaling Jaya. 

From the looks of it, it appears the Suzuki Swift Sport (SSS) variant we will be getting comes with the 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder Boosterjet engine (K14C) that pushes out 138hp and 230Nm of torque. This is the same unit found in the Suzuki Vitara. 

Again if our assumptions are accurate, this powertrain which was introduced in Frankfurt in 2017, is not that much more powerful than the previous M16A engine that produced 134hp, the torque figure however gets a 70Nm boost. 

The 2018 SSS that was premiered in Frankfurt is also 70 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, giving the SSS a torque-to-weight ratio of approximately 4.2 kg/Nm. 

It's unclear what transmission the SSS will be supplied with, but the car is offered with either a six-speed manual or automatic, the latter, sadly, is the ideal choice for the Malaysian market.

Based on specifications from other markets we can expect the new SSS to also come with a slew of safety features like Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS), LDW, ACC, Weaving Alert Function and High Beam Assist. 

The last time an SSS was launched in Malaysia way back in 2013, it retailed for RM97,888 for the manual variant and RM102,888 for the CVT. We don't expect the all-new SSS to be any cheaper!
