It comes as no surprise, but the all-new Honda CR-V has achieved impressive results since bookings were opened. In just 1 week, Honda has received 1,400 bookings- which was their projected sales figure for 2 months. With such high specifications and a very competitive price, it's easy to see why Malaysians are snapping them up.
What's more interesting is the breakdown of the models booked. As Honda Malaysia predicted, there would be fewer buyers opting for the 1.5-litre TC (turbocharged) 4WD model- just 9% of the total bookings. It's the 1.5-litre TC-P (turbocharged premium) 2WD model that takes the lion's share of the orders at 40%, followed by the 1.5-litre TC (turbocharged) 2WD model at 31%.
The remaining 20% of orders are for the 2.0-litre i-VTEC 2WD model, which is a fair amount considering it's the entry-level variant. As we mentioned in our video (above), the specification difference between the various models isn't so large as to make the base model feel unappealing, but it's the powertrain and Honda Sensing features that draws people to the higher end variants.
