Barely over a week after its official launch at the tail end of September, they’ve announced that over 100 units of the fully electric sedan have been delivered to dealers nationwide — from bustling Kuala Lumpur to the heart of East Malaysia. With the first batch of customers are now proudly taking delivery, it marks a noteworthy moment as the Seal 6 EV’s earliest adopters outside of China, where the model is known and sold as the Qin L EV. Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, remarked on the milestone for the brand and for Malaysia’s growing EV landscape: “Malaysia is proud to be the first international market to welcome the BYD Seal 6 — a milestone that not only marks the debut of a dynamic new vehicle, but also reflects our commitment to meeting customers’ needs with professionalism and passion,” she said. With deliveries well underway, the BYD Seal 6 is now available for viewing and test drives across all showrooms. BYD Sime Motors is also charging ahead with its expansion plans — the current network of 37 outlets is set to grow to 50 by next year, strengthening the brand’s presence across Malaysia with improved sales, service, and charging support. For those considering the sleek new sedan, let’s recap some of this new model’s highlights. The BYD Seal 6 comes in two variants — the Dynamic and Premium, priced at RM100,000 and RM115,800 respectively. A generous launch package worth RM6,288 is included, offering buyers a choice between a wallbox charger plus RM3,000 rebate, or a 12-month doorstep charging programme (via Power Up) with a RM1,000 rebate. In terms of its electric powertrain, both variants feature a single rear-mounted motor juiced up by a 56.64 kWh Blade LFP battery good for up to 485 km on the NEDC cycle (around 415 km WLTP). Outputs vary between the two variants with the Dynamic offering 129 PS and 220 Nm, sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 10.9 seconds, while the Premium cranks up the numbers to a substantially beefier 218 PS and 330 Nm, trimming that to 7.5 seconds. DC fast charging (up to 100 kW) takes just 23 minutes from 30–80%, while AC charging supports up to 6.6 kW. And yes, it even packs a 3.7 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function for powering devices on the go. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
