Don’t confuse Traz and Tras: One transports you, the other helps you save money, both applicable to Perodua

Assets and asses, brakes and breaks – these words are differentiated only by one letter but carry wildly different meanings. Today, Malaysians need to add two more similar-sounding words to their vocabulary: Traz and Tras.

Traz, as you would’ve already known by now, refers to Perodua’s latest B-segment SUV. It’s powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine. Prices start from RM 76,100.

The model is developed by Daihatsu and is a Perodua-badged equivalent of the Toyota Yaris Cross sold in Thailand and Indonesia.

Tras, on other hand, is the name of a digital car financing platform backed by EON and DRB-Hicom. As you might have already known, EON is Malaysia’s most successful multi-brand dealer best known for Proton, Smart, e.Mas, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Audi, and most recently – Hyundai.

Tras operates separately from EON's car retail stores. As it is a car financing platform, Tras is neutral to any car brands, meaning that buyers of any new car brands can benefit from their financing services.

EON welcomes Perodua Traz buyers to sign-up at Tras.my to get a quote for the best financing rates.

Regardless of whether you are referring to the Perodua Traz or EON’s Tras car financing, both trademarked names evoke an image of trustworthiness – crucial in this era of AI-generated content, bot accounts on social media, and overhyped marketing.

So remember this simple rule:
If you’re Googling the Perodua SUV, type Traz, end it with a “z” - because a car takes you from A to Z.

If you’re looking for auto financing, type Tras, end it with an “s” – for savings.

Apart from financing and attractive interest rates, Tras also offers extended warranty for up to 7 years / 250,000 km. However, this service is only applicable to cars (except BEVs) purchased from EON: Proton, Proton e.Mas, Smart, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Audi, and Hyundai.

Unlike other third-party warranties peddled by used car dealers, Tras’ extended warranty is given by the same company that sold the car when new, and it kicks in automatically once the vehicle’s manufacturer warranty ends. There is also no limit on claims per part.

It’s the best way to secure your car’s resale value. Yes, the extended warranty is transferable to the next owner, on condition that the car has been regularly maintained at EON’s workshops, according to the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals.

This post is supported by EON.

While I wouldn’t label myself a hardcore petrolhead, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for cars and the simple joy of driving. For me, getting behind the wheel is a therapeutic escape.
