Auto News Sep Irran Halid https://www.carlist.my/authors/100116/sep-irran-halid | June 08, 2026 02:14 pm The Mazda CX-60 range in Malaysia is set to expand with the arrival of a new flagship variant powered by a 3.3-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine paired with a mild hybrid system. While an official debut is expected at KLIMS 2026 this weekend, info on the new variant has already appeared on Mazda Malaysia's website. Further checks also confirmed that a small number of units have quietly been sold and delivered to customers ahead of the model's public unveiling. Known as the Mazda CX-60 3.3G AWD High Plus, the new range-topper introduces one of Mazda's most distinctive modern powertrains to Malaysia - a 3.3-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine paired with a 48-volt 'M Hybrid Boost' mild hybrid system. This delivers a more substantial performance boost and equipment upgrades than the existing CX-60 2.5G 2WD High, which has a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. The setup produces 280 PS and 450 Nm of torque, and it sends all that power down to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission and Mazda's i-Activ AWD system. Compared to the existing CX-60 2.5G 2WD High, output rises significantly from its 189 PS and 261 Nm, while the drivetrain configuration is also different, from two-wheel drive (2WD) to all-wheel drive (AWD). Mazda says the additional 48-volt mild hybrid system provides electric assistance during acceleration and low-speed driving, while recovering energy during deceleration to improve efficiency and overall refinement. The CX-60 3.3G AWD High Plus receives a number of upgrades beyond its six-cylinder powertrain. For starters, the AWD model also gains Off-Road Traction Assist (ORTA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC). Inside, the flagship variant upgrades from black leather upholstery to Nappa leather seats, with buyers able to choose between Pure White and Tan interior themes depending on exterior colour selection. Both front seats gain a Driver Personalisation System alongside 10-way power adjustment, while other premium features include a panoramic sunroof, Bose 12-speaker premium audio system, 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera system, similar to the CX-60 2.5G. The 3.3G AWD High Plus is also the only CX-60 variant in Malaysia to offer the exclusive Machine Gray exterior colour, which is paired with a Tan Nappa leather interior. While Mazda Malaysia has yet to officially announce the new variant, the CX-60 3.3G AWD High Plus is already listed on the company's website with a price tag of RM250,000. That places it RM51,100 above the existing Mazda CX-60 2.5G 2WD High, which remains the sole officially launched variant in Malaysia and is currently priced at RM198,900. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
