Power, style, and comfort? iCaur V27 previewed in Golden REEV Classic Journey in China

Chinese automaker iCaur has provided an early look at its upcoming V27 SUV through a structured real-world drive programme in China known as the "Golden REEV Classic Journey", which also highlights the brand’s proprietary Golden REEV system.

The 160 km drive between Hefei and Wuhu combined highways, secondary roads and expressways into a continuous route designed to demonstrate the vehicle’s performance across different real-world conditions.

The V27 is powered by iCaur’s Golden REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) system, which pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric drive system. The engine functions primarily as a generator, while propulsion is handled by electric motors.

Depending on configuration, the dual-motor all-wheel drive version is reported to produce up to 455 PS and 505 Nm, while a rear-wheel drive variant with lower output is also expected.

Energy is supplied by a 34.3 kWh LFP battery pack, enabling up to 210 km of pure electric driving based on the CLTC cycle. With the range extender in operation, the total driving range is rated at up to 1,230 km, supported by a 60-litre fuel tank.

During the expressway portion of the drive, the system operates primarily in electric mode, with the Golden REEV system delivering linear acceleration and consistent power output while maintaining low noise levels for long-distance cruising.

Underpinning the V27’s ride characteristics is a MacPherson front suspension and multi-link rear suspension setup. An intelligent all-wheel drive system (i-AWD) is also available to support traction across varying road surfaces.

Beyond drivetrain performance, the V27 also features utility-focused elements. It supports up to 6 kW of external power output and includes multiple interface points designed for outdoor applications such as camping equipment and portable devices.

The SUV measures approximately 5,055 mm in length with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, placing it in the large SUV segment.

The model was also showcased at iCaur’s international business summit in Wuhu, where the brand outlined its broader electrification and global expansion strategy centred on the Golden REEV system.

While official market introduction details have yet to be confirmed, the availability of a right-hand drive configuration suggests the V27 could be considered for multiple overseas markets, including Malaysia.
