MINI Malaysia launches 1965 Victory, JCW GP Inspired Editions – Up to 258 PS, From RM230k

MINI Malaysia is turning up the nostalgia and performance dial with the simultaneous introduction of two new special edition models: the MINI 1965 Victory Edition and the MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) GP Inspired Edition. With prices starting from RM230k and outputs of up to 258 PS, these limited-run variants celebrate key moments in MINI’s storied motorsport history while delivering distinct driving experiences for enthusiasts.

Leading the duo is the MINI 1965 Victory Edition, a model that pays tribute to the brand’s legendary win at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. That historic victory, clinched by rally icon Timo Mäkinen, remains one of MINI’s most celebrated achievements, and this modern reinterpretation channels that spirit into an all-electric package.

Based on the MINI John Cooper Works Electric, the 1965 Victory Edition stands out with its Chili Red exterior, contrasted by a signature white stripe stretching from the bonnet to the rear. Adding to the throwback appeal are the “52” race number decals and subtle “1965” badging on the C-pillars. It rides on 18-inch JCW Mastery Spoke wheels, completing a look that blends classic rally heritage with contemporary flair.

Inside, the cabin continues the commemorative theme. Drivers are greeted with JCW-inspired trims finished in anthracite and red, along with bespoke “1965” lettering on the steering wheel and centre console. A special edition key cap further enhances its exclusivity. Under the skin, the electric powertrain delivers 258 PS and 350 Nm of torque, offering brisk acceleration and silent performance in keeping with MINI’s modern direction. The model is priced from RM230,888, or RM237,188 with the MINI Service & Repair Inclusive package.

On the other end of the spectrum sits the MINI JCW GP Inspired Edition, a more hardcore, track-focused machine designed to echo the spirit of the limited-run JCW GP models. Drawing cues from the 2021 JCW GP, this version takes a more aggressive visual and mechanical approach.

Finished in Racing Grey metallic, the GP Inspired Edition features a full JCW Aero Kit that includes a prominent rear spoiler, as well as front, side, and rear winglets. These elements not only sharpen its visual presence but also hint at improved aerodynamic performance. GP-inspired decals run across the bonnet, flanks, and C-pillars, while GP-branded entry sills reinforce its motorsport connection.

The interior is equally focused on evoking the GP aesthetic with bespoke floor mats, JCW trim elements, and unique detailing such as GP-themed centre wheel hub caps and a dedicated key cap. Power comes from a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine producing 231 PS and 380 Nm of torque, delivering a more visceral, combustion-driven experience compared to its electric sibling. Pricing starts at RM333,888, or RM345,988 with the inclusive service package.

In terms of ownership, both models are supported by MINI Malaysia’s comprehensive aftersales programme. Buyers will receive a 4-year unlimited mileage warranty along with four years or 60,000km of service coverage under the Service & Repair Inclusive package. The electric 1965 Victory Edition also benefits from extended high-voltage battery protection of up to eight years.
