2026 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe Nightfall Edition launched in Malaysia at RM518k – dark chrome styling, AMG Real Performance Sound

The latest addition to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s growing line-up of special edition models has arrived in the form of the Mercedes-AMG GLC43 4Matic Coupé Nightfall Edition, bringing a stealthier visual package and added theatre to the already potent performance SUV-coupe.

Locally assembled and priced at RM518,888 on-the-road without insurance, the Nightfall Edition builds upon the standard GLC43 Coupé that first made its Malaysian debut in November 2024. This new variant introduces a more aggressive and sinister appearance package, aimed squarely at buyers looking for a sharper visual edge without altering the SUV’s proven performance formula.

The most noticeable changes come courtesy of the AMG Night Package Exterior II, which expands on the existing AMG Night Package fitted to the regular model. Dark chrome detailing is now applied to several exterior elements, including the radiator grille trim slats, rear Mercedes-Benz star emblem, and model badging. An AMG fuel filler cap finished in silver chrome with black accents further distinguishes the Nightfall Edition from the standard car.

Beyond aesthetics, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also enhanced the sensory experience inside the cabin. The Nightfall Edition gains AMG Real Performance Sound, which amplifies the engine note through the cabin speakers for a more emotional driving experience. Drivers can toggle between “Balanced” and “Powerful” sound profiles directly through the infotainment touchscreen, depending on mood and driving style.

Mechanically, the Nightfall Edition remains unchanged from the standard Mercedes-AMG GLC43 4Matic Coupé. Power comes from a hand-built 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine producing 421 PS at 6,750 rpm and 500 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Supporting the combustion engine is a 48-volt mild-hybrid system featuring a belt-driven starter generator that contributes an additional 14 PS while enabling coasting and energy recuperation functions.

Power is sent to all four wheels through AMG’s Speedshift MCT 9G nine-speed automatic transmission, allowing the SUV-coupé to dispatch the century sprint in just 4.5 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The Nightfall Edition continues to ride on 21-inch AMG Y-spoke alloy wheels, paired with silver-painted brake calipers. Chassis technologies remain comprehensive, with AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension offering selectable Comfort and Sport damping modes, while rear-axle steering with up to 2.5 degrees of articulation enhances agility at lower speeds and stability during faster driving.

Inside, the cabin retains its premium AMG-focused ambience with AMG sport seats wrapped in Artico synthetic leather, carbon-fibre trim elements, and a Nappa leather AMG steering wheel. The MBUX infotainment system also features AMG-specific displays and performance functions, while a Burmester 3D surround sound system handles audio duties.

The GLC43 Coupé Nightfall Edition becomes the second Nightfall Edition model introduced by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia this year, following the earlier debut of the Mercedes-Benz GLA200 Nightfall Edition and Mercedes-Benz GLA250 Nightfall Edition in March.

There's just something about cars. It's a conveyance, it's a liability, it's a tool; but it can also be a source of joy, pride, inspiration and passion. It's much like clothes versus fashion. And like the latter, the pursuit of perfection never ends.
