Home News Auto News Toyota Expands Recall to 29,985 Vehicles for Airbag Fix Toyota Expands Recall to 29,985 Vehicles for Airbag Fix Auto News Daniel Wong | July 07, 2015 05:37 pm UMW Toyota today announced that they are issuing a recall for 29,985 vehicles, comprising of the Toyota Vios, Corolla Altis, and Yaris that are manufactured between April 2007 and December 2008. The recall is to rectify the front passenger airbag inflator. This recall is an expansion of Toyota Motor Corporation’s global recall regarding defective airbag inflator modules, which was carried out by UMW Toyota for affected models on 11th April 2013 and 13th May 2015.In its press statement released today, UMW Toyota would be carrying out the recall in the interest of ensuring customer confidence and peace of mind. The company will contact all affected customers to carry out the necessary corrective measures. If the recalled model is equipped with an affected inflator, the inflator will be replaced with a newly manufactured one at no charge to the owner.UMW Toyota assures that no other Toyota model sold by the company produced after December 2008 are affected by this campaign.
