Mitsubishi has announced yesterday that a new concept car, the XM Concept will be making its world debut at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), which opens on 11-August.
The XM Concept will preview Mitsubishi’s upcoming crossover/MPV, which Mitsubishi says will be produced at its plant in Bekasi Prefecture, West Java in 2017.
For now, details are scarce, but Mitsubishi Motors says the crossover MPV will be a seven-seater vehicle aimed at large families, and will have wide body and an optimized layout to provide generous interior space.
While it might have an MPV-like interior, its exterior is more SUV-like, with a raised ride height and an underguard to protect vehicle’s undercarriage, Mitsubishi says the vehicle will cope well with rough road conditions and flooded roads, but stopped short of confirming if it will come with 4WD.
