Perodua is expected to preview its new SUV, codenamed D38L, at the upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) in November.
Ahead of its preview, a quick search on MyIPO (Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia) revealed that the second national car maker has trademarked a few names, including names such as Aruz, Lasaq, and Impax.
These names were registered in 2018, hinting that Perodua could be considering these names for the upcoming SUV.

Car companies often register names ahead of model launches, though it does not necessarily mean that they will adopt these names in upcoming models. For example, Perodua registered various names such as Axeda, Bezza, Ativa, and Myca before settling on Bezza for its first-ever sedan.
To recap, the upcoming Perodua D38L SUV will be heavily based on the Daihatsu Terios that's currently on sale in Indonesia.
