Mercedes-Benz Teases the Production Ready X-Class

It takes a little bit of success to give you the confidence to go further and diversify. At least in the case of Mercedes-Benz, their rapid portfolio diversification (long before BMW) has led to the pick-up truck segment with the X-Class. We've talked about the X-Class before, and Mercedes-Benz quickly confirmed the model would be making it to production when there was such a positive reaction to the concept.

This is the latest in the line of X-Class teasers, signalling that the full production model is likely going to come soon. We can hardly wait for it; the X-Class may not be the first German pickup (the Volkswagen Amarok has been around for years), but it will be the most luxurious on the market. It may not be as popular in American markets given their need for far more cargo area, but it could find a niche in places like the Middle East and Australia.
