Home News Auto News Probe ordered into road accident on NKVE caused by confusing yellow and white lines Probe ordered into road accident on NKVE caused by confusing yellow and white lines Auto News Adam Aubrey | January 26, 2023 03:16 pm Works Ministry have called for a thorough probe into the road accident supposedly caused by the overlapping of lane markings. Malaysian roads are hazardous and the recent accident involving a white Toyota Velos and Innova, where they crashed into each other because of confusing yellow and white coloured lane markings, proves that more can be done to ensure the safety of road users. It seems that the Works Ministry also agree with this, which is why they have called for a thorough probe into the road accident over the overlapping of lane markings on the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE). According to NST, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, said initial reports showed that DASH highway concessionaire had already identified the area of the said overlapping lines even before Chinese New Year. "This needs to be given serious attention as it involves safety and the lives of road users", said the Works Minister. He continued by saying that DASH had begun the process of fixing the overlapping lines, and work is expected to be completed in three days. However, Alexander said drivers must also be mindful, as road safety is the responsibility of everyone! "At the same time, I hope road users will continue to be mindful when driving as road safety is the responsibility of everyone". On a positive note, the Malaysian Highways Authority (LLM), PLUS and DASH will also reassess the situation on the NKVE, especially regarding yellow and white road lines, so that they are more orderly and precise and safe for users to travel. The accident which took place earlier this and was recorded on a dashcam, saw a black MPV trying to overtake a white MPV where the black vehicle lost control after the driver became confused over the overlapping yellow and white lines, before crashing into the white car. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
