Proton Flags Off X70 Owners To China – 13,000 km Road Trip

Earlier today, Proton flagged off several X70 owners as they kick-started their 13,000 km journey from the Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam to Hangzhou, China. A total of 33 participants, including car owners and members of the Malaysian Foochow Association, and nine cars took part in this overland trip.

These participants will pass through four countries and 13 cities to get to their destination. In an effort for better peace of mind, Proton has set up checkpoints along the route at dealer locations and service centres to welcome the participants.

According to Proton, the entire trip will take approximately 33 days to complete, with the halfway point being Hangzhou, where all 33 participants will be able to visit the Geely Experience Centre.

Apart from allowing owners to fully experience their X70 over various road conditions, this trip also gives Proton some limelight, as it proves that the X70 is capable of performing in various road conditions as it travels from Malaysia to China.

Aptly called the Malaysia – China Amazing Trip, owners of the Proton X70 will be able to enjoy viewing some eye-catching scenery along the way.

Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Proton, said, “While this is a private initiative, Proton is happy to offer its support as a sign of appreciation to its customers. The Proton X70 has been very well received by Malaysians and we hope that by showing regional car buyers its capabilities, we will be laying the groundwork for future export sales success.”

After completing their trip to Hangzhou, the participants will drive back to Malaysia via a different route with the final destination being the Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam.
