Spied: 2017 Honda CR-V Spotted On PLUS Highway

It is no secret that Honda Malaysia will be introducing the new 2017 Honda CR-V here. After all, Honda has already introduced the new model in Thailand and Indonesia.

These spyshots were taken on the PLUS Highway heading from Melaka to Seremban, depicting a heavily masked SUV. Our friends over at Funtasticko mentioned that the test mule was wearing a trade plate starting with "M", indicating that this Melaka-registered SUV is in fact the new Honda CR-V as Honda Malaysia's production facility is located in Pegoh, Melaka.

Trade plates aside, the fifth-generation Honda CR-V's silhouette is visible through the camouflage. We can see Honda's signature grille up front and the new tail light design at the rear. Other noteworthy details we spotted include the side mirror-mounted camera, hinting that Honda Malaysia will be offering LaneWatch on the new CR-V, which is currently only offered on the Honda CR-V 2.4. The presence of the dual muffler tips also indicate that the 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo will be offered on the new CR-V, similar to the dual-muffler set up of the Civic Turbo

Earlier this year, Honda Malaysia teased members of the media with some details of their upcoming models and powertrain options. Apart from the new Honda CR-V, the company is also expected to introduce an updated Honda Jazz. All of these launches are part of Honda Malaysia's sales goal to achieve 100,000 units in 2017.
