When the Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe was launched in Thailand last year, the asking price of the car which was imported fully from Germany was 5.19 million baht.
However, according to a report by Bangkok Post today, the price of the car has dropped by a whopping 1.05 million baht now, thanks to local assembly.
According to Mercedes-Benz Thailand, this is the first time a performance-oriented model has rolled off the brand’s production line in the country, aiming to put some pressure on all of its key rivals.
Sitting below the range-topping C63 Coupe which is sold as an import in Thailand at some 10 million baht, the C43 Coupe is powered by a 367 hp 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox and 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
In comparison, the imported Audi A5 TFSI quattro S Line, and the BMW 430i M Sport, both produce less than 300 hp at asking prices of 3.799 and 3.729 million baht respectively.
