Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT), distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia have issued a Special Service Campaign (SSC) on the Hilux and Fortuner where they would like to inspect the brake booster.

Based on the information received from Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), there are 12,997 units of vehicles involved in this campaign, including 11,571 units of the Hilux and 1,426 units of the Fortuner distributed by UMWT from July 2018 to Jan 2019.

The condition involves the resin pistons in the brake booster of the subjected vehicles where the vehicles could experience compromised braking performance.

To ensure that nobody gets left out UMW Toyota Motor will send an owner notification letter to the affected vehicle owners to have the vehicle rectified at no charge. For those who feel they have not been contacted, to get further information, you may contact any authorised Toyota Service Centre or call the Toyota Freephone at 1800-8-TOYOTA (869682).
