2018 Ford Focus RS Signs Off With A Limited Edition

Come 2018, Ford will be pulling the plug on the current generation Focus RS. To commemorate the Focus RS, Ford has unveiled a special Focus RS Limited Edition with some extra hardware and new visuals.

First up is the new shade of colour, dubbed Race Red. This new colour will join Nitrous Blue as colour options for the Focus RS. That aside, the Focus RS Limited Edition receives black side mirrors, black roof and a black rear spoiler. The 19-inch forged alloy wheels are also finished in black. RS emblems can be found on the rear spoiler as well.

Visual updates aside, the new Focus RS Limited Edition also receives a new mechanical update, in the form of a Quaife mechanical limited-slip differential for the front wheels. According to Ford, the limited-slip differential grants the Focus RS improved cornering abilities on top of allowing it to accelerate out of corners without breaking traction. 

Elsewhere, Ford has mentioned that the optional RS2 package is now standard on the Focus RS Limited Edition, which adds heated Recaro bucket seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors and voice-activated navigation. Carbon fibre trim on the handbrake, door handles and auxilary gauge cluster is also new.

A total of 1,500 units of the Ford Focus RS Limited Edition will find its way to North America. Out of the 1,500 units, 500 units are allocated for Canada and 1,000 units for the United States.
