Following the success of its mid-sized F-Pace SUV, Jaguar is now readying the smaller E-Pace crossover to join the family. An official teaser image has just been released ahead of its scheduled world debut on 13 July.
Power for the E-Pace comes from Jaguar Land Rover’s latest family of Ingenium petrol and diesel engines fitted in conjunction with a performance-biased all-wheel drive system. Present versions of the 2.0-litre inline-4 Ingenium engines have rated outputs from 163 to 300PS in varying states of tune.
The E-Pace is not to be confused with the all-electric i-Pace concept first revealed in November 2016 and slated to go on sale in 2018.
In keeping with global trends, Jaguar’s foray into SUVs has been a profitable one – the F-Pace propelled Jaguar sales to an 83 percent year-on-year sales increase in 2016, its debut year.
That momentum of growth has carried on to 2017 with sales from January to May nearing 80,000 units worldwide, up 65 percent from the corresponding period last year.
