Audi Hungaria has started assembly of the second generation Q3, with the first model rolling off the production line finished in Turbo Blue.
Achim Heinfling, Managing Director of Audi Hungaria Zrt said, “Meanwhile, nearly a third of all the Audi’s we deliver are SUVs. The production of a Q model is a clear commitment to our site in Hungary; it strengthens our competitiveness and thus secures the long-term success of Audi Hungaria. I am proud of our employees, who have managed the start of production of the Audi Q3 with many years of expertise and great passion for the model.”
To accommodate the production of the new Audi Q3, the company built a new 80,000 square meter body shop and added 700 robots. Additionally, Audi Hungaria also trained more than 1,000 employees for the production of the all-new Q3.
The new generation Audi Q3 is the fifth models to be assembled at the Győr plant, joining the A3 Sedan and A3 Cabriolet, as well as the Audi TT Coupe and TT Roadster.
Audi Hungaria has an annual production capacity of 160,000 units, one of the country’s largest car manufacturers. The company currently employs more than 12,500 workers, with roughly 4,500 working in the automotive production sector.
