Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has, in conjunction with its 15th anniversary, contributed RM75,000 to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) and has sealed its post as the primary sponsor for their “Relay For Life Malaysia” cancer awareness charity event.
“Relay For Life” was first initiated by the American Cancer Society (ACS) and has since mushroomed into a franchised campaign which runs in over 20 countries worldwide.
The Kuala Lumpur branch of the event will be held at Dataran Petaling Jaya from 6pm on September 5th to 10am the following day. There, cancer survivors, caregivers, a team from Bridgestone Malaysia will take turns the walk the track throughout the 16 hours in support of cancer awareness, and invites all members of the public to join in for the cause.

In our efforts to support the local communities, we undertake initiatives directed towards addressing local issues, such as to help promote cancer awareness. By lending our support, we hope to create a better understanding of cancer which may in turn lead to prevention and early detection. We believe that charitable events such as “Relay For Life” organised by NCSM offers the much needed support and hope to cancer patients and their caregivers through the challenging times.”
According to Dato’ Zuraidah Atan, Chairperson of “Relay For Life” and NCSM Honorary Advisor, the funds raised during the “Relay For Life” event will be channelled to educate the community about the life-saving benefits of early detection to the prevention and cure of cancer as well as provide suitable care for cancer patients by giving them easy access to screening facilities.
