Honda Malaysia Aims To Further Increase Total Sales For 2015

Along with the launch of the new Honda CR-V, Honda Malaysia has also announced a sales target of 85,000 units in 2015, with an estimated year-on-growth of 4.5% to 697,000 units for the total industry volume (TIV).

The announcement was made following a successful sales volume of 77,485 units in 2014, exceeding the initial sales target of 76,000 units at the time. Accounting for 70% of Honda’s sales last year were new models that were introduced, namely the Jazz and City. Honda Malaysia’s market share also grew by 3.7% to 11.6%.

Strong sales in 2014 allowed Honda Malaysia to claim top spot in the Non-National Passenger Car segment for the first time in the company's history.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno said, “This success was made possible with the support and trust in the brand from Malaysian customers.”

"Three years ago, Honda Malaysia set a mid-term strategy to elevate our business to 100,000 units and started our preparation for enhancing the competitiveness of our products, increasing production capacity and expanding our dealer network," he added.

Looking to increase its production capacity, the opening of Honda Malaysia’s No. 2 Line in Malacca will allow them to meet the anticipated increase in sales with the ability to produce 100,000 units per year.

My first impressions of a dream car should be a ridiculous top speed with physics defying cornering capabilities, namely the Ferraris, Paganis and what not. Deep down, I just want something that makes you feel special when you drive it, expensive or not.
