Mitsubishi Triton Sales Up 2.4% in 2019

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) today announced a 2.4% year-on-year increase in the Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck from January-December 2019 with 5,792 units sold, comparing to the same period in 2018.

The pick-up truck segment experienced a 21% downsize in 2019 because of a challenging economic situation. In spite of this, the Triton was the only model that successfully achieved positive growth and expanded its overall sales.

The Mitsubishi Triton is the number one sales growth pick-up truck in Malaysia, improving its market share by 3.8% to 16.5% from January-December 2019. After the introduction of the new Triton in early 2019, it has contributed to 71.2% of MMM’s overall business.

Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia said, “Our achievement this year includes ranking number one in J.D. Power 2019 Malaysia Customer Service Index (CSI) Mass Market Study. This is the second consecutive year for MMM to be ranked at number one and remain in the top three positions for five consecutive years.

In terms of Sales, MMM is ranked top two in the 2019 J.D. Power Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study. These results were a reflection of car owner’s satisfaction and experience at the authorized service centres.”

In January 2019, the company launched the new Triton that incorporates the latest iteration of the ‘Dynamic Shield’ design concept, improved quality, and advanced safety features.

Subsequently in November 2019, the company upgraded the range topping Triton Adventure X and Triton AT Premium to include more accessories offered by all MMM authorized dealers. The company also launched the new Triton Quest and limited edition Triton Knight to complete the Triton line-up.

The Mitsubishi Triton is still the only pick-up offering up to 200,000KM or 5 Years warranty. Customers will get to rack up more mileage with added peace of mind.
