New Mitsubishi Triton Open For Booking - 5 Variants, Estimated Price From RM100k To RM140k

Shortly after previewing the new Triton pickup truck yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS 2018), Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) announced that the model is now open for booking.

Due to be launched in the first quarter of 2019, the new Triton, which will be imported from Thailand and offered here in 5 variants, is expected to be priced between RM100,000 to RM140,000.

Visually, the facelifted Mitsubishi Triton features a front end that closely resembles the Xpander and Pajero Sport, featuring the ‘Dynamic Shield’ front fascia with slim bi-LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. Similar to the Xpander, the front fog lights are housed at the edges of the bumper.

The available colours are White Diamond, Black Mica, Sterling Silver, and Graphite Grey Metallic.

Moving inside, the Triton gains some new switchgear, new air vents, and also soft touch materials and stitching on the centre arm rest, floor console, and parking brake.

On the safety end, the new Triton comes with features such as Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist (BSW with LCA), and Auto High Beam (AHB).

Depending on the variant, the New Triton is equipped with 7 SRS airbags, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Active Stability with Traction Control(ASTC), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descend Control (HDC), Trailer Stability Assist (TSA), and Brake Override System

Under the hood of the new Triton is the same 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine powering the pre-facelift model, but it is coupled with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain produces 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque. Also part of the package is Mitsubishi's Super Select 4WD II system with Off-road Mode.

Malaysians will be able to get the first close-up view of the New Triton at a series of special displays at major towns and cities from 7 December 2018 to 20 January 2019. The locations and dates of the roadshows are shown below:

The first 1,000 owners who book and register a New Triton stand a chance to receive an exclusive limited edition THULE all-purpose luggage bag worth RM2,000.
