Despite the countless speculative posts made today on various news sites, the Domestic Trade Cooperatives and Cosumerism Ministry has just announced that there will be absolutely no change in fuel prices for the month of May this 2015.
In accordance with the managed float system introduced by the govt at the end of 2014, here's what the prices will continue to look like:
- RON 95: RM1.95 per litre
- RON 97: RM2.25 per litre
- Diesel: RM1.95 per litre
For the last month (April 2015) fuel prices also remained exactly as they were the month before that, despite the implementation of the Goods & Services Tax (GST). Bear in mind, however, that only RON 97 is affected by the GST.
This time around, it appears that all speculations this morning which suggested an increase in fuel prices for RON 95 by RM0.20 per litre were completely inaccurate. So there you go folks, go on to continue enjoying the exact same prices as before, and here's to hoping you haven't spent too much time at a petrol station this evening, waiting for an increase in prices.
