Proton X70 Indonesia Debut Postponed

Originally slated for a debut at the 2019 Indonesia International Motor Show (2019 IIMS) later this month, it now appears that the Proton X70 won’t introduced in Indonesia so soon.

Speaking to Kompas, Rully Septiadi, the Head of Marketing for Proton Edar Indonesia said that Proton will not be participating in the motor show. In addition to that, he said that the X70 won’t be introduced in Indonesia in the near future.

Steven Xu, the Director of International Sales for Proton said that Proton will not exit the Indonesian market and abandon their loyal customers.

Steven also said that Indonesia remains an important market for Proton, as it is the largest market in the ASEAN region. He added that the change in their business position will not affect their decision to introduce new models there, such as the X70, in the near future.

According to Steven, Proton is also in the search for more local distributors to increase their presence in Indonesia.
