Singapore 2019: All-New (C8) Audi A6 Launched, 3.0 TFSI

Audi Singapore has officially introduced the all-new eight-generation (C8) A6 at the ongoing Singapore Motorshow. Following its worldwide debut in early 2018, the new A6 now reaches Singapore's shores boasting a more technical looking exterior design, better handling, updated connectivity functions, and a new mild-hybrid powertrain.

Only one variant is offered: the Sport 55 TFSI quattro S Tronic, which is powered by a new generation 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine which outputs 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

The engine is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch S Tronic transmission, which in turn sends power to all four wheels through Audi’s quattro AWD system. The A6 is also fitted with a self-locking centre differential, which can instantly activate the rear driven wheels depending on traction requirements.

A 48V mild hybrid system works in combination with the six-cylinder engine. A belt alternator starter (BAS) works together with a lithium-ion battery with 10 Ah of capacity which allows for highway coasting and an enhanced working range for the start-stop system. During deceleration, the BAS recovers up to 12 kW of energy.

The new A6 will feature four-wheel steering that can dial in up to 5 degrees of counter-steering at slow speeds for better manoeuvrability, or in sync with the front wheels at high speeds for more stability.

The Singapore-market A6 comes as standard with the S Line trim package which includes sportier bumpers front and rear, and some subtle badging. The Singapore market also receives HD Matrix LED headlamps and 20-inch Audi Sport alloys to complete the look.

On the inside, the new A6 features a black-panel design, fitted with the Audi Virtual Cockpit fitted as standard, and a redesigned centre console, headlined by the MMI Navigation plus (with MMI touch response) in charge of the car’s infotainment functions.

Interior appointments on the Singapore market A6 also includes sports seats, trimmed in Valcona leather.

The price of the new Audi A6 starts from SGD 340,800.
