Spyshot: All-New G20 BMW 3 Series, Caught With Supra And Z4 In Tow

The all-new BMW 3 Series, codenamed G20, has been caught during winter testing alongside the new generation BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra.

In terms of design, the G20 BMW 3 Series is expected to carry an evolutionary step forward from the current F30 generation 3 Series. As seen on the G30 5 Series, BMW tries to avoid introducing dramatically different design languages transitioning from one generation to another.

From the spyshots, the front of the G20 BMW 3 Series appears to sport a more muscular front kidney grille flanked by a pair of production-ready LED headlights with more angular LED daytime running lights than the F30 model it replaces.

Also spotted on the front of this test mule are active grille shutters plus a radar module on the lower front bumper and cameras near the rear view mirror, hinting that the variants of the new model could feature Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning.

Moving to the rear, the new G20 3 Series also dons production-ready tail lights, featuring what appears to be L-shaped LED light bars, though the turn signals are now located in the lowest part of the light assembly.

Considering that BMW’s current line of B series engines are relatively new, we expect BMW to continue to offer the same engine choices when the G20 3 Series is launched in 2019. A plug-in hybrid variant plus as hotter M3 is also expected to be introduced later.
