The 2015 NST MAI ASEAN Autoshow Is Happening This Week

Touted as being the largest Autoshow in Malaysia, the NST-MAI ASEAN Autoshow 2015 will be held between the 12th and 15th of November at the Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) at MINES Resort City, Seri Kembangan.

The show, organised by the New Straits Times and the Malaysian Automotive Institute, has come a long way since it first became a calendar staple in 2010. And now, the Autoshow will be held over the course of four days with over 150 exhibitors from top motoring brands, with visitors being given the chance to test drive a bevy of selected models from their favourite marques.

Exhibitors will also be offering special prizes and gifts for those wishing to book their cars during the show duration, complete with exclusive deals and financial packages. Some exhibitors will also be creating specialised exhibits to show off their car’s capabilities such as the Subaru All-Wheel challenge and the Ford Ranger Experience, as well as more educational ones such as Car Clinic by Puspakom and Tyre Clinic by Lim Tayar. Asean NCAP and the Road Safety Department will also be there to showcase their programmes to make road users more aware of the importance and factors of road safety.

Visitors to the Autoshow will enjoy witness the launch of Malaysia’s first electric bus, hopefully the beginning of many more electric zero emissions public transportation changes to come. In addition, there will also be the latest in clean fuel alternatives on display such as fuel cell technology and a leading company promoting the benefits of EURO 5 Diesel.

The NST MAI ASEAN Autoshow will also have pre-owned cars and motorcycles up for sale. Visitors can expect at least 20 percent discounts on these vehicles sold from the Sime Darby Premium Auto Booth with cars from Land Rover, Jaguar, Hyundai, Ford, and BMW, among others.

Yamin Vong, editor of Cars, Bikes, & Trucks and the event’s organising chairman, says: “All show patrons also stand to win over RM200,000 worth of prizes. The top prizes include a Peugeot 208 worth RM85,000, a Ninebot Personal Transportation robot worth RM14,000 and a Modenas bike worth RM5,000.”

There's just something about cars. It's a conveyance, it's a liability, it's a tool; but it can also be a source of joy, pride, inspiration and passion. It's much like clothes versus fashion. And like the latter, the pursuit of perfection never ends.
