It’s had its debut in Bangkok two months ago now, and it looks like Sime Daby Auto Connexion is getting closer to launching the refreshed 2015 Ford Ranger in Malaysia, still.
Nothing more than a few images of the 2015 Ranger have been shared with us, largely showing off the Ford pick-up’s new and bold front fascia. This is the second time SDAC has done this, after their last, solo image, tease. – come on! Spill the beans already!
What we can tell you from these images are that they are of the range-topping Ford Ranger XLT- one is seen with the roll bars around the rear, the other without.
From its Bangkok premiere, we can tell you that not only the exterior of the car has been reworked – lots of new tech has been introduced here, such as the eight-inch touchscreen multimedia system, Lane Keeping Alert/ Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver Impairment Monitor, and the second-gen Ford SYNC in-car connectivity system.
Engine options for the Ranger in Bangkok include the brand’s new and updated range of Duratorq and Duratec engines – all of which are said to feature a 20% increase in fuel efficiency.
We’ll have to wait a little longer for SDAP to reveal further details of the new, Malaysian-spec 2015 Ranger, but for a glimpse of what our neighbours in Thailand have got at the moment, go here.
