Powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine with four-wheel drive as standard, the new Outlander CKD will be sold alongside the existing 2.4-litre CBU model.A line-off ceremony was held earlier today at the Tan Chong Motors Assembly (TCMA) Segambut plant to mark the new variant’s introduction. The Outlander becomes the second model by MMM to be contract-assembled at the TCMA Segambut plant following the ASX CKD’s introduction in 2014 – an arrangement that interestingly foreshadowed the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s acquisition of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation last year.Until the end of this year, the Outlander 2.0 CKD is offered at an introductory price of RM139,988 on-the-road without insurance. The existing 2.4 CBU model, meanwhile, is currently priced at RM171,000 under the same terms.Powering the new Outlander 2.0 CKD is Mitsubishi’s seasoned 2.0-litre 4B11 inline-4 naturally aspirated powertrain that we are familiar with from the Lancer and ASX. Outputs are rated at 145 PS and 196 Nm.
