2018 F90 BMW M5 Officially Goes On Sale In Thailand For The First Time

BMW Thailand has officially started selling the F90 BMW M5. This is the first time BMW Thailand has introduced the M5 model on an official basis, and is the third “M” model to be introduced in Thailand, after the M2 and M4 models.

Bangkok Post reports that the M5 is priced at THB13.339 million, and will be shown for the first time at the upcoming Bangkok Motor Show.

The M5 is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 600 hp and 750 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 5,600 rpm.

The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels through the M xDrive all-wheel drive system. In keeping with the M5’s ‘tail-happy’ DNA, the xDrive system can also be configured to deliver power to just the rear wheels.

The BMW M5 is capable of accelerating from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0 – 200 km/h in 11.1 seconds and has a top speed of 305 km/h when specified with the M Driver’s Package.

Its closest rival, the Mercedes-Benz E63 S 4Matic+, produces 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. Power is transferred to all four wheels through an AMG Speedshift MCT nine-speed automatic, which like the M5, can also isolate power to just the rear wheels. The Mercedes-Benz E63 S, however, is not officially sold in Thailand.
