Air France Uses a Porsche Cayenne to Tow an Airbus A380

Guinness World Records are always fun- especially if they involve cars. Any feats from the world's fastest drift to parking in the world's tightest spot- but rarely do we see feats of sheer, brutal strenght. Porsche and Air France have done just that, using a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S to pull a full-fat Airbus A380 over a distance of 42 metres- as per the Guinness record requirements.

The first attempt was done with a Porsche Cayenne Diesel S- which would have made more sense given its insane low end pull (850 Nm of torque on tap)- but the test was repeated with a Turbo S. The cars were not specially prepped and identical to production models, having been driven all the way to Charles De Gaulle airport from London, and the engineers who attempted the record will be driving the cars back as they are. Impressive engineering indeed.
