Home News Auto News Future Renault, Nissan, And Mitsubishi Models To Get Android-Powered Infotainment System Future Renault, Nissan, And Mitsubishi Models To Get Android-Powered Infotainment System Auto News Eric | September 19, 2018 03:30 pm The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and Google have announced a new partnership that will see the Android operating system embedded into future vehicles sold by the Alliance from 2021.Under the new technology partnership, vehicles with the new infotainment system can utilize turn-by-turn navigation with Google Maps, access Google Play Store, and manage vehicle functions with Google Assistant.While vehicles built by the Alliance will share the identical Android platform, each brand will have the flexibility of creating their own user interface and specific features.The infotainment partnership with Google forms part of the Alliance’s move to equip more vehicles with connectivity and cloud-based services as part of its Alliance 2022 mid-term plan.Additionally, the plan also involves the launch of 12 new electric vehicles, new autonomous driving technologies and the rollout of the Alliance Intelligent Cloud.The Alliance Intelligent Cloud will provide next-generation infotainment systems with secure connectivity by offering a platform to integrate data management, infotainment system, and to ease over-the- air upgrades and remote diagnostics in Alliance vehicles.The system will also be compatible with devices running other operating systems, such as Apple iOS. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
