Jakarta 2017: Daihatsu DN Multisix Concept - Possible New Perodua SUV?

Daihatsu is on a roll with the introduction of not one, but two concept vehicles at the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The first is the concept sedan called the DN F-Sedan, while the second is an SUV called DN Multisix.

The company has yet to reveal any specifics regarding the new concept SUV, though it was positioned beside the F-Sedan, hinting that it could very well be a B-segment SUV. If so, it is possible that the DN Multisix concept could underpin Perodua's new generation seven-seater SUV, or a crossover-style MPV like the Honda BR-V.

Up front, the Daihatsu DN Multisix features a front fascia with what appears to be LED headlights and a light bar style turn signal. The aggressive front end also features a large lower air intake with LED daytime running lights positioned at each end. Gold trim pieces are found at the lower half of the DN Multisix concept, giving the SUV some nice design touches.

The funky design continues to the rear end, with sharp looking LED tail lights positioned at each end of the concept SUV. Towards the bottom, muffler tips are nicely integrated into the bumper.

Looking inside, the Daihatsu DN Multisix concept sits six. The dashboard is populated by a large display. Below the large display is a smaller display with controls for the infotainment system and the SUV's gear selector.

The current generation Daihatsu Terios, is also sold as a seven-seater in Indonesia. It's also known in Malaysia as the Toyota Rush. The model is at the end of its lifecycle and a replacement is imminent.

Closer to home, Perodua could be developing its own version of the Daihatsu SUV for the Malaysian market, as the company currently lacks an SUV in its lineup.
