Leonardo DiCaprio Might Produce Movie On Volkswagen’s Emissions Scandal

Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie production studio Appian Way has teamed up with Paramount Pictures to acquire the rights to produce a movie that’s loosely based on the Volkswagen emissions scandal, reports Bloomberg and several other entertainment news portals.

This does not necessarily mean that a movie on the Volkswagen scandal will be produced yet, only that DiCaprio has acquired the rights to exercise the option to do so. Appian Way has reportedly purchased the movie rights to a proposed book by New York Times’s economic correspondent Jack Ewing.

Ewing is said to be writing a fictional book that centres around a German car maker’s attempts to penetrate into the US car market by rigging its cars with an illegal software.

The last major blockbuster produced by DiCaprio’s studio was ‘The Wolf of Wall Street.’
