Home News Auto News Perodua Records Best-Ever Sales In 2018, Aims To Sell More This Year Perodua Records Best-Ever Sales In 2018, Aims To Sell More This Year Auto News Gokul | January 24, 2019 10:56 am Perodua today announced that it recorded its best-ever sales performance in 2018 with a total of 227,243 units.The Myvi was Perodua’s best-selling model in 2018, with 82,122 units, followed by the Axia, Bezza, and Alza with 70,821, 49,911, and 24,389 units sold respectively.With the new Myvi and the recent introduction of the Aruz, the company said that it aims to better last year's figure by 1.7% to 231,000 units by end-2019.“Perodua’s aim to boost its sales by 4% this year will not only strengthen the brand, but also offer some relief to the Malaysian car industry which is expected to grow very minimally this year,” said Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer.Perodua also expects to increase its component purchases by 20% from RM5 billion last year to RM6 billion this year. This is in line with the demand expected in 2019 and will directly benefit local automotive suppliers.According to Dato’ Zainal, over 219,000 vehicles rolled out of the Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and Perodua Global Manufacturing Sdn Bhd plants in 2018, a figure which the brand expects to increase by 10.5% to 242,000 vehicles in 2019.Perodua also broke some records in the after sales division, such as total service intakes (2.17 million intakes versus 2.1 million intakes in 2017), as well as sales of parts and accessories (RM 320.8 million in 2018 versus 2017’s RM288.5 million).“After-sales service is just as important as sales to us as it sustains us in this ever-competitive market.
