It is busy times at Proton. Having started the year with bold announcements of programmes for new models and new engines, the company now faces a major administrative shake-up from top down.
The latest in a series of high profile departures from the brand’s top management is the stepping down of En Norzahid Mohd Zahudi as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd.
A veteran of over two decades in the automotive industry, Norzahid’s exit comes just a day after Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed’s resignation as Chairman of Proton Holdings Bhd.
Just a week ago, it was announced that the CEO of Proton Holdings Bhd, Dato Harith Abdullah, was to be transferred back to parent company DRB-Hicom to serve as Chief Operating Officer, being replaced by Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali, who commences his duties today.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Norzahid’s role as CEO of Proton Edar is set to be taken over by current Proton Holdings CFO En Rohime Shafie.
We are currently awaiting Proton Edar’s official announcement on this matter, so watch this space for more.
