With Polestar making big headlines for their up and coming "1", let's not forget that the performance division of Volvo is still producing and developing models based on regular road-going Volvo vehicles.
In the past they've had entire specially produced cars built to their specifications, down to optional equipment that customer can outfit their cars with after purchasing. In the case of the all-new S60, Polestar is offering performance upgrade items for a car that hasn't been launched yet.
For now, Polestar Engineered (which will seemingly be the umbrella under which their performance items are branded) will be made available for the T8 Twin Engine variant of the S60, and will sit one step above the R-Design models. It will eventually be made available for the V60 and XC60 in the coming year, available in limited numbers for both sale and leasing.
There are new lightweight wheels, gold-coloured 6-piston Brembo mono-block calipers, Polestar emblems, gold seat belts, black chrome exhaust tips, and Ohlins suspension from the Polestar 1.
Power has also been increased by a modest 15 hp and 30 Nm of torque, for a total of 415 hp and 670 Nm of torque from the twin-charged 2.0-litre hybrid powertrain. Not a huge increase in raw numbers, but paired with a change in gearbox mapping and the fact that it improves fuel consumption and maintains emissions, it's a nice enough addition.
