BMW has ceased global production of the 6 Series Coupe, though production of the 6 Series Gran Coupe and Convertible is unaffected.
Road & Track reported that BMW has stopped production of the 6 Series Coupe back in February. They added that it is unknown if BMW plans to resurrect the 6 Series Coupe any time soon. Despite that, North American buyers can still pick up a new 6 Series Coupe at dealer lots subject to availability of stock.
That may seem unlikely, as BMW has plan to revive its 8 Series nameplate, with an M8 being the high performance variant. The new BMW 8 Series is expected to be the company's flagship grand touring model, slotting above the 7 Series.
Closer to home, BMW Malaysia's 6 Series lineup consists of only one model, which is the 640i Gran Coupé, currently priced at RM788,800. The company had previously offered the 6 Series Coupe and Cabriolet, on top of the M6 Coupe and M6 Gran Coupe.
